Haley Bishop’s handmade artist books are an attempt to remember and record the inside of her Nana’s house. The book’s inspiration is charged by her fear of forgetting important events, the love she feels for family members and for spaces she has returned to her whole life. While her Nana is living in the moment she is living in the past and dwelling on what she doesn’t want to forget. Her process involved a few trips to my Nana’s house, taking photos, going through old photo albums in the basement, and drawing images of what she can remember. This document project allowed Haley to explore the pain she feels about losing a psychic and emotional connection with her Nana.  She has also furthered this study by trying to recall the inside of her childhood home and the placement of things within the rooms she occupies today.
